Are you looking for a fun way to add candy to your Christmas stockings? Give these sour cream containers a try! These little treat bags are quick, easy, and fun to create. They are perfect for adding candy, jewelry, or other small gifts. And the best part ... you can get 6 treat holders from one 12"x12" paper or you can dive into your scraps pile and use those up!
All you need to make these containers is some scrapbook paper and strong double-sided tape. I like to also use a bone folder to help smoosh the ends together, making sure I get the ends stuck tight.
Follow these steps for making your Christmas treat holders:
1. Cut your paper into 4"x6" pieces. (I used 4.25"x5.5" because I was using scraps but you can make these any size.)
2. Place double-sided tape on one of the short edges.
3. Stick edges together creating a tube.
4. Place double-stick tape along the inside edge of one end and press together.
5. Add candy or other small gifts to the treat holder.
6. Place double-stick tape along the inside edge and pinch the ends together in the opposite direction of the bottom of the treat holder to adhere.
You can give these treat holders as-is or you can embellish with a tag, sticker, or other ephemera. If you change your paper, you can use them for birthdays, Valentine's Day, Thanksgiving, Easter, Fourth of July, and more!
Bonus Tip: Instead of taping one end closed, try using a small binder clip, miniature clothes pin, or decorative paper clip to hold the end closed. That way you won't have to tear the pretty packaging to get to the treat.
